Chez Mathieu in Traben-Trarbach

A really great little bar in the heart of Traben-Trabach with an incomparable bartender. Mathieu is the highlight of the location and a real one-of-a-kind. The rooms are newly renovated. Very nice bathroom. Breakfast plenty of choice, everything your heart desires. The bean coffee would take more beans when pouring, then you would no longer see the bottom of the cup. Mathieu is super personable and makes the guests feel welcome. His recommendations and tips are very valuable.

Quiet terrace in the middle of the city.

The start was a bit difficult ... There was no menu and when asked what there was, the lady of the house only gave the dry and not really friendly answer "beer and wine". Counter-question on my part: "What kind of wine is there?" Answer: "White, dry, semi-dry and lovely" Well, whether the apparently limited choice is taken from the dry whites. And admittedly it was really good. A beautifully fragrant dry Riesling. The boss (probably said "Monsieur Mathieu") and the really nice atmosphere on the terrace tore it out. On his part, a really attentive and nice service and thus a very nice evening at the end of the day! If Monsieur Mathieu had been there at the beginning, it would have been a perfect evening! There are no 4.5 stars here, so still 5!

The terrace is absolutely brilliant and cozy to relax and have a drink outside in summer. Hosts just great too! Has given us great recommendations for the drinks and later put us at the table to give a few tips for eating options on site. Were there twice during our short stay and would always come back. Definitely a recommendation!

The most beautiful terrace to enjoy coffee, wine or beer that we found in Traben-Trarbach.

We sat on the very cozy outdoor terrace and had a super nice evening with wine, gin and tonic and nice conversations with other guests. The owner is super friendly, everything is very clean. We would love to come back and definitely recommend Chez Mathieu!

Cocktail bar with stylish ambience in the center of Trarbach. The interior is equipped with a large bar. In the summer months, the outdoor terrace invites you to linger, trees provide shade and privacy. A large selection of cocktails, wine and beer give a clear recommendation from me.

Very cozy, modern bar with great selection of drinks. The host is also on special requests. Stayed there for a weekend and felt so comfortable on the first evening that we came back directly on the second night.

Great location. Well-stocked bar with good spirits and cocktails, subtle jazz music and a rustic atmosphere. You should at least come by for a drink.

Wonderful wine bar with such a kind host. We've stayed in a very comfortable room upstairs and we enjoy a glass of wine in the bar later, nice music and ambiance.
